Beautiful finishes, exquisite details and excellent functions are all indispensable parts of luxury design. The high standards of these products are not only continuously met, but also surpassed by the companies that produce them.
Choosing the best products to be introduced into the luxury market is not an easy task, but the Decoration Pipes and Hardware Association has assigned a team of industry experts to present the awards for the 2021 Product Awards. The program recognizes uniqueness, design, function, innovation and technological advantages, and selects winners from a series of categories. This year’s independent jury includes: Mary Jo Peterson, principal, Mary Jo Peterson Design in Brookfield, Connecticut; Eliot Sefrin, founding director and honorary publisher of "Kitchen and Bathroom Design News" ; Alissa Ponchione, Executive Editor of Hospitality Design; Molly Switzer, creator of Molly N. Switzer Designs in Portland, Oregon, and Alena Capra, owner of Alena Capra Designs in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.
The winners were divided into seven different categories: plumbing, water supply, furniture, fittings, door hardware, cabinet hardware and technology. The product of the year was announced at the DPHA Annual Conference and Product Showcase held last fall. ▪
Brizo: Frank Lloyd Wright single function rain shower
Brizo's Frank Lloyd Wright single-function Raincan shower head draws on the philosophy of organic architecture from famous architects. It has a unique Canopy Spray nozzle that activates the built-in LED lights powered by a hydroelectric generator to produce a dramatic effect. The spray releases thousands of tiny water droplets, creating a sensation of pouring down, leaving a slight tingling sensation. The shower head can also be installed on the ceiling or hung from the shower arm. Many metal finish options highlight the natural beauty of available wood.
California faucet: Corsano Culinary with Squeeze Handle
Corsano's cooking faucet with squeeze handle is designed to give cooking enthusiasts a professional look and includes an easy-to-squeeze lever that activates a powerful spray. Available from California Faucets, kitchen faucets are available in more than 25 artisan finishes and can be finished with coil springs to match the rest of the faucet. The uniquely designed insulated nozzle ensures that it will not feel too hot to the touch, even with hot water. The company points out that easy-to-clean sprayers can withstand the buildup of minerals.
Sterlingham: Marble heated towel rail
Sterlingham Co.'s marble heated towel rack combines marble with the brand's iconic brass utensils and is designed to gently heat towels. As part of the Cascades series, monorails-nearly 24 inches long-can be hung individually or stacked and arranged in almost any form. The marble is decorated with patterns and has a wide range of uses. There are five unique marbles to choose from: Nero Marquina, Bardiglio Nuvolato, Bianco Carrara Venatino, Calacatta Gold Calo-Bett and Giallo Sienna, as well as 16 metal finishes.
Infinity Drain: custom linear program the next day
Infinity Drain's Next Day Custom program eliminates costly and lengthy installation delays by providing custom-sized drain pipes for showers throughout the day. The next day custom-made linear drainage pipes can be up to 72 inches in length and provide two finishes, three grille styles and all installation waterproofing methods. Custom orders received before 10 am Eastern time will be shipped the next day.
MTI Bath: Bowie freestanding bathtub
MTI Bath's Bowie freestanding bathtub is designed with pleated exterior details, adding an unexpected texture to the bathtub. Bowie developed in cooperation with the design company Source, and is hand-made using MTI's SculptureStone material, which is mainly an organic mixture of natural minerals and resins, presenting the look and feel of molded stone. Bowie provides space for two bathers, available as an infuser or air bath, available in white or biscuit color, with eight different exterior colors, matte or highly polished gloss finishes.
Native Trail: Amara Fireclay Sinks
Handcrafted by Italian craftsmen, the Amara refractory mud sink from Native Trails has a rectangular profile and is glazed in 24k gold, platinum and silver to commemorate the company's silver anniversary. The sink is made of fertile clay from the Umbria region of central Italy, which was shaped using ancient ceramic techniques dating back to the Bronze Age. The sink can be embedded or installed under the counter, and provides an anti-fouling, non-toxic coating to prevent discoloration and leaving fingerprints.
Stone Forest’s Elemental Crossbar is specially designed for bathing. It uses a locking collar system to flexibly customize each setting to meet individual needs and preferences. The knurled locking ring supports the modular assembly at the required height on the brass tube legs, providing seemingly endless options. Elemental Crossbar allows users to combine integrated stone sinks, wooden drawers and steel, wood or stone shelves in various combinations. It is available in all finishes, including new walnut finish options for drawers and shelves.
AD Waters/Simas: Agile vanity
Simas's Agile wall-mounted console dressing table is handmade in Italy, with clean lines and square edges, simple and pure. AD Waters is available in the United States. This piece includes a washbasin made of Italian porcelain, showing the authenticity of craftsmanship and culture. Agile is available in eight colors.
Accurate lock and hardware: SmartEntry, self-locking mortise lock
SL-SM9159E brings the convenience of smart phone lock control to space-saving sliding doors and pocket doors. The lock from Accurate Lock & Hardware combines mechanical expertise with cutting-edge technology. Used in conjunction with the SL9100 self-locking mortise lock, it can provide a variety of decoration options, including segmented decoration (lever and rose), ADA decoration (lever and eyelet) or flush pull decoration for pocket doors.
OMNIA Industries: L.D12943 Smart Lock
OMNIA Industries has cooperated with Level to provide smart bolt locks, including L.D12943 smart locks. The hardware design is traditionally made in Italy and powered by Level Bolt invisible smart locks. Level Bolt is powered by a CR2 lithium battery and used in conjunction with the Level app to provide safe and reliable keyless entry. Users can automatically lock and unlock doors, see who is in and out, access from anywhere, use with other devices, control via voice, create home automation, and more.
The company pointed out that the patented Airmada shower drying system prevents mold, mildew, slippery floors and wetness after showering, reduces watermarks, and reduces the need to use harsh cleaning chemicals. With the push of a button, air will flow into the space from Air-Jet nozzles installed on the walls and ceiling. Installed in rough places, the nozzles are placed throughout the shower space, usually on the ceiling, on the wall above any bench, and on the lower part of the wall to dry on the floor. Provide a series of finishes to match the tiles and complement other functions.
ThermaSol's HydroVive is designed to put the multi-sensory power of light, sound and water under the user's control when paired with ThermaSol's smart shower valve and ThermaTouch interface. Waterstone faucet: industrial electrical lever

Inspired by North American hunting knives, Hickory levers, handles and cabinet handles are hand-casted with Turnstyle Designs' Amalfine material, retaining the fine details of wood and wood grain design. There are 48 combinations of Amalfine and solid brass to choose from. These parts are set on a solid brass plate or brass bar and have a round button. The round button is like a nail, creating a sharp contrast between the smooth brass finish and the textured Amalfine surface.
