The main sources of US steel imports in October include: Canada, 687,483 tons; Mexico, 450,941 metric tons; South Korea, 184,005 metric tons; Brazil, 160,586 metric tons; and Turkey, 135,203 metric tons.

Divided by product group, the total import of semi-finished products in October was 340,454 tons, which was lower than the 628,578 tons in September, but higher than the 217,524 tons in October 2020. The total flat steel imports in October were 1,257,945 tons, which was lower than September's 1,259,758 tons and higher than September's 1,259,758 tons, but increased by 1 October 2020. The total import of long products in October was 441,011 tons, which was lower than the 456,925 tons in September, but higher than the 315,095 tons in October 2020. The total pipe imports in October were 335,639 tons, which was lower than the 459,496 tons in September but higher than the 219 tons in October 2020.

According to data from the American Iron and Steel Institute (AISI), the US steel import market share in October 2021 is estimated to be 24%, compared with 25% in September and 21% year-to-date.
