ASTM A106 pipe (also known as ASME SA106 pipe) belongs to American standard steel pipe. A106 contains three grades of A, B, and C. A106A is composed of C and Si, and its tensile strength grade is 330MPa. A106B is C, Mn and Si components. The grade is 415MPa, A106C is composed of C, Mn, and Si, and the grade of tensile strength is 485MPa. Among them, A106A is similar to China's 20#; A106B is similar to China's Q235; A106C is similar to Q345. It belongs to the ordinary carbon steel series and is one of the commonly used materials.

ASTM A106 seamless steel pipe includes two processes: cold drawn and hot rolled. Among them, cold drawn has higher dimensional accuracy than hot rolled, and the surface of hot rolled steel pipe is relatively rough. Large-diameter seamless steel pipes are hot-rolled steel pipes, and small-diameter steel pipes are cold-drawn steel pipes.

The exported A106 seamless steel pipes need to be slotted, painted, and plastic pipe caps are added at both ends, and they can be exported only after they pass the commodity inspection. The main exporting countries are Malaysia, the United States, Thailand, Saudi Arabia, Brazil, Italy, etc.

Wall thickness: The minimum wall thickness at any point shall not exceed 12.5% of the specified nominal wall thickness.

Weight per foot: The weight change of any length shall not exceed 10% and 3.5% of the specified value. Note—NPS 4 and smaller—weigh in batches. The larger size should be weighed separately by length.

The hydrostatic pressure test verifies that the stress generated by the test pressure in the pipe wall is equal to 60% of the specified minimum yield strength (SMYS) at room temperature. The maximum pressure of NPS3 must not exceed 2500 psi, and the maximum pressure of larger sizes must be kept below 2800 psi. Keep the pressure for no less than 5 seconds.

Chemical composition: ①Below the specified maximum carbon content, for every 0.01% reduction in carbon content, A106 seamless steel pipes are allowed to increase the manganese content by 0.06% above the specified maximum manganese content, but the maximum shall not exceed 1.35%; ②Cu, Ni The sum of the five elements of, Cr, Mo and V shall not exceed 1.00%.

*ASTM A 106 Class B seamless pressure pipe 1) Unless otherwise specified by the buyer, for every 0.01% reduction of the specified maximum carbon content, manganese is allowed to increase by 0.06% above the specified maximum, up to 1.65%.

*ASME SA 106 Class B seamless pressure pipe 2) For every 0.01% reduction below the specified maximum carbon content, it is allowed to increase 0.06% of manganese above the specified maximum, up to 1.35%.
