E. E. Johnson, of St. Paul, Minn., has on the market a perforated ribbon to be wound around perforated pipes and used as well screens. Screens made of perforated pipe of the proper material are best for practically all conditions of service, but where they cannot conveniently be secured, the tape is designed for use. Steel pipe is easily secured at any point within the country, and holes easily drilled in the shape of a well screen, but the question of coating it or covering it is yet quite undeveloped. The Johnson Jacket Ribbon is designed for producing screens which will act for the purpose until better screens are secured. The ribbon is cheaply shipped and is inexpensive to stock. The illustration herewith shows the Johnson ribbon winder. All ribbon bands fit the same handle. The handle carries a band tension, and the ribbon tension, an arrangement which makes it easy to lead the ribbon, and is t. J equipped for winding any desired range of sizes. A booklet descriptive of the Johnson Ribbon and process of application may be secured for the asking. Specify catalogue WX.
